Choosing a School or College

Explore Majors at UConn http://www.admissions.uconn.edu/majors/index.php .

To be prepared for your junior/senior course work in any field of study at the University of Connecticut, your college program should include transferable courses that satisfy the University's General Education Requirements in expository writing, mathematics, arts and humanities, social sciences, science and technology, and foreign language (if you did not complete three years of a single foreign language while in high school).

Several programs at the University have more competitive admission requirements that include college-level preparation in specific academic areas.  Prospective transfer students are advised that only a limited number of transfer students will be admitted to the majors in the Schools of Business, Education, Engineering, Nursing, and Pharmacy.  Students interested in one of these fields should consider other majors as alternatives; however, even if admitted to an alternate program, students cannot be guaranteed eventual admission to their first choice of program.
